  • Chelsea are likely to offload some players during the summer transfer window in a bid to balance their books
  • The Blues have spent more than £600million in two of the most recent transfer windows
  • Graham Potter's side welcomed eight new signings during the January transfer window
  • Enzo Fernandez is their most expensive acquisition, with the club forking out a record fee to sign him from Benfica

The upcoming summer transfer window could be marked with several exits at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea in line to lose a couple of players.

Chelsea had a busy window in January that saw them splash over £300million on eight new signings, with Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix among the top players who moved to the Premier League.

The amount spent is nearly another £300million, which they invested in new signings during the summer of 2022.

According to The Sun, a failure to make the top four at the end of the season could occasion a mass exodus of players at Chelsea seek to balance their books.

Sports Brief now takes a look at the top seven Chelsea players who could depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

1. Edouard Mendy

The Chelsea goalkeeper has hit a rough patch at Stamford Bridge despite his promising start to life at the west London club.

The Senegalese shot-stopper has lost his place in the starting XI and is likely to be offloaded at the end of the season.

2. N'Golo Kante

N'Golo Kante has already entered the final months of his contract with Chelsea.

The Frenchman has been sidelined for the better part of the season after picking up an injury earlier on in the campaign.

It remains to be seen if he will find his way back to the squad when he returns to action.

3. Kalidou Koulibaly

The former Napoli centre-back joined Chelsea in the summer for a fee in the region of £33m.

However, he has struggled to make an impact at the club, with his defensive struggles denying him a regular starting role.

4. Marc Cucrurella

Cucurella was once one of the most sought-after full-backs in the Premier League.

The former Brighton left-back has since failed to live up to his billing since moving to Chelsea in the summer.

The imminent return of Ben Chilwell from injury is further expected to complicate his place in the team.

5. Hakim Ziyech

Many had hoped to see Hakim Ziyech play a more prominent role for Chelsea after he lit up the 2022 World Cup with Morocco in Qatar.

However, he has often been overlooked by Graham Potter since then sparking rumours of a potential exit.

Ziyech looked set to join Paris Saint-Germain on loan in January before a paperwork hitch saw the deal fall through.

6. Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Homegrown midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has struggled for regular playing time since he broke into the scene in 2014.

After two loan spells with Crystal Palace and Fulham in between, the midfielder is likely to move on in the summer in search of more regular playing time.

7. Conor Gallagher

Just like Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher has been unable to get regular playing time with the first team.

The youngster has spent most of his time away on loan, with his most recent coming with Crystal Palace where he spent the 2021/22 campaign.

Cucurella's reaction to Jorginho leaving

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella could not quite believe it when he was informed Jorginho was on the verge of joining Arsenal from the West Londoners.

After missing out on Moises Caicedo, Arsenal turned to the next best thing – Jorginho, who is set to sign a deal that will keep him at the Emirates for 18 months.

Everything is all but done in terms of turning Jorginho into an Arsenal player, and he was pictured in an Arsenal shirt on transfer deadline day.
