Pressure rising as Barca must cope without Lewandowski in derby
FootballAubameyang: Why Embattled Chelsea Striker Can Only Leave for Barcelona in January
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's career has taken a sharp and sad trajectory in recent months
- Joao Felix's arrival spells doom for the veteran striker who has had to play second fiddle to Kai Havertz
- To make it worse, Aubameyang can't leave in January unless it's back to Barcelona
It needs no telling that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's move to Chelsea has not worked out. Fresh from scoring goals at will for Barcelona, Aubameyang arrived at Stamford Bridge keen on proving Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal fanbase wrong.
Everything was on the cards for him to perform. A manager he had worked with at Borussia Dortmund and a group of creative players who needed a top-class striker.
Sadly, his reunion with Thomas Tuchel lasted 59 minutes. The Champions League winning coach was sacked and in came Graham Potter.
The Gabonese striker is yet to impress the former Brighton boss fully. He is yet to complete a game under Potter and his goal returns, for a number 9, haven't been inspiring either.

His relationship with Potter hit a new low when he was introduced as a substitute against Manchester City on January 5th after Sterling went off injured. Barely an hour later and with Chelsea desperately needing a goal, Potter withdrew a distraught Aubameyang.
What Felix's signing means for Aubameyang
Perhaps it's why there are reports linking him with an early exit from the club. Joao Felix's arrival is set to limit his involvement even further.
But newsflash for Aubameyang, he can't play for another club this season apart from Barcelona. FIFA rules stipulate that a player cannot play official games for more than two clubs in the same season.
Therefore, Atletico Madrid can take him as Felix's replacement, but he can't play in La Liga or the Copa del Rey.

FootballFor the next six months, he is stuck with Chelsea unless Xavi Hernandez wants him back. The other option will be to join a league that does not conform with the times of the European leagues, preferably the Major League Soccer.
Aubameyang attracts interest from other clubs
Despite this, Sports Brief had earlier reported that Chelsea forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be lined up for a shock transfer, just months after joining the Blues. Reports now suggest Aubameyang is courting interest from various Spanish clubs amid his struggles at Stamford Bridge.
The former Arsenal man has a single goal in the Premier League in his nine appearances and is struggling for game time under Graham Potter.
