Former Nigerian international Mikel John Obi was delighted to reunite with his former captain at Chelsea, John Terry.

The pair were pictured together at a holiday resort as they grinned to the camera - in a selfie taken by the former England international.

While Obi spent 11 years with Premier League club Chelsea, having joined in 2006 before leaving in 2017, John Terry spent most years of his career at the London club.

The former England national team captain joined the Blues at a young age, made his senior team debut in 1998, and was there for 19 years, GOAL reports.

Terry became a major player at the club, being handed the captaincy and leading the Blues to five Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one UEFA Europa League and one UEFA Champions League title.

On the other hand, Obi won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, one League Cup, one UEFA Europa League and one UEFA Champions League title with the side.

At their reunion, Obi shared a photo on social media with the caption:

“Absolute gentleman, great friend and amazing family man. Love you always old boy.”

Mikel Obi satisfied with his football career

Sports Brief earlier reported that Obi announced his retirement in September, stating he is very satisfied with what he achieved during the course of his remarkable career.

He noted that 'good things must come to an end', but added that he still wants to be involved in sports in some capacity.

In a recent interview, the 35-year-old admitted that quitting professional football was a tough decision. However, he added he was not done with sport.

John Terry mocks fan for correcting his English

Sports Brief had reported on Terry mocking a Zimbabwean fan who corrected him on his tweet about Man City's victory over Man United in the Manchester Derby.

The fan noticed an error in the tweet and corrected the Englishman, who fired back a snappy response.
