- Aston Villa have reportedly put the German tactician on their watchlist as uncertainty continues over Steven Gerrard's future
- Gerrard has found the going difficult this season, with the club hovering above the relegation places
New reports have indicated that Aston Villa ownership are eyeing a shock move for former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Steven Gerrard's position as the head coach continues to hang in the balance following the club's poor start to the Premier League.
Villa currently sit just a point above the relegation zone and are winless since their win against Southampton more than a month ago. Their latest defeat came at the hands of Tuchel's former side.
Chelsea sacked Tuchel last month and replaced him with Graham Potter. Football London reports that he is among the possible targets for Villa in a list headlined by former Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino leads Aston Villa's list
Sports Brief had earlier reported that former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been strongly linked to a shock return to the Premier League, with Aston Villa the prime candidate for his signature.
Pochettino, 50, has been without a job since he was sacked by French giants PSG a few months ago.
Steven Gerrard, the current Villa manager, is under intense pressure after his side lost 2-0 to Chelsea over the weekend.
Tuchel had reportedly rejected two Premier League clubs
Sports Brief earlier reported that Tuchel had seemingly decided to take a mini-break from the touchline, following his sacking as Chelsea boss last month.
This is after reports emerged that he had rejected offers from two Premier League clubs and one La Liga outfit.
Coupled with these three reported offer rejections, the 49-year-old is also believed to have turned down a chance to manage Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
