Wolves went on to lose the game 3-0 and in his post-match interview, Costa made some interesting comments.
“I've never had a problem with the fans,” He said as quoted on Daily Mail.
'My problem was not with the crowd, it was with that coach. I left in bad terms with that manager, I left a champion for the second time, and he didn't count on me.
Costa went on to say he was helpless and had to leave Chelsea but the standing ovation on Saturday was proof he did not leave on bad terms with the fans.
As a Chelsea player, Costa spent three seasons with the Blues, winning two Premier League titles.
Despite the infamous curse of the Chelsea number 9, Costa actually had a fairly impressive goal ratio as a Chelsea player as he bagged 59 goals in 120 games for the club.
