  • Nkunku has been on the radar of top European clubs following his breakthrough campaign last season
  • Chelsea are still looking for more attackers, given that it is an area that they have struggled in recent times

It has now been revealed that Christopher Nkunku had a secret medical with Chelsea. The RB Leipzig striker was one of the key priorities of former head coach Thomas Tuchel.

A transfer never materialised and Tuchel was eventually sacked, with Graham Potter taking his place.

It is not yet understood if Leipzig gave the go-ahead for the medical, as it would be a breach of transfer laws for a medical to happen without the authorization of the parent club.

The said medical reportedly happened in Frankfurt.

Sport Bible reports that a transfer deal is now imminent, either in January or next summer. He will cost the Todd Boehly-run club a transfer fee of approximately 53 million Euros.

The former Paris Saint-Germain forward had a breakthrough campaign last season where he was voted Bundesliga's player of the season.

Chelsea are still on the hunt for an attacker after releasing Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku. The club signed Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but will need more firepower with the futures of Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic uncertain.

N'Golo Kante resumes first-team training as he steps up recovery from injury

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Graham Potter will be breathing a huge sigh of relief after N'Golo Kante resumed training with the first-team squad on Tuesday.

The recently appointed head coach, who is still settling in, will need his full squad as he looks to navigate through uncharted territory in the coming weeks.

Kante went off injured on the second match day of the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder had put on a characteristic N'Golo Kante performance before he limped off with a hamstring issue.
