The fans, who thronged Stamford Bridge to watch Tuchel's successor Graham Potter in action, applauded Tuchel in the 21st minute.
Chelsea was playing RB Salzburg in their first game since Tuchel's sacking. It was also Potter's first Champions League game. Like Tuchel's reign, Potter started his Chelsea stint with a draw. Tuchel drew with Wolves in his first-ever game for Chelsea.
The fans chose the 21st minute as a mark of the year Tuchel led the club to Champions League victory. The Sun reports that they had initially planned to use Tuchel's banner but due to Queen Elizabeth II's passing, they decided to stand and applaud the German gaffer.
Potter will have to work around his novice status to win the support base. His first game in charge was similar to Tuchel's reign, where Chelsea dominated the proceedings but failed to kill off the game.
Potter will now have an extended break given that their weekend clash against Liverpool was postponed. Thereafter, all major leagues will retreat for an international break.
