Romelu Lukaku has come out to criticize comments made by his agent regarding his potential exit from Chelsea after just one season.

The Belgian rejoined Chelsea for a club-record £97.5m last summer, but despite the optimism surrounding his transfer, he has failed to live up to his hefty sum this season.

A combination of injury, illness and a general lack of form has crippled his performances at times this season, leading to rumours that he could be headed for the exit doors.

In December, Lukaku did little to help his situation as an interview was released where he claimed he would love to rejoin Inter Milan sometime in the future.

Months on, and it is the 29-year old’s agent Federico Pastorello who is on the receiving end of criticism for an interview he recently did.

Pastorello did an interview with an Italian newspaper where he claimed Lukaku’s situation at Chelsea would be “carefully assessed” at the end of the season.

As expected, the interview did not sit well with Chelsea fans, who felt that Lukaku and his team did not have the club’s best interests at heart.

Lukaku himself took to Twitter to set the record straight in a straight forward statement, saying:

"Never ever will I let someone else speak for me. I kept my mouth shut and focused on helping the team and end the season in the best way possible.”
"So if someone out there trying to say something about me and my club. Not in my name."

Following his recent performances for the Blues, Tuchel admitted Lukaku has put himself back in contention for a place in the FA Cup final on Saturday, May 14.

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Liverpool are set to renew hostilities, albeit in the FA Cup when the two sides face off in the final at Wembley on Saturday, May 14.

For Liverpool, they will be hoping to win the trophy to boost their chances of at least a treble this season, as a quadruple is highly unlikely following Manchester City’s impressive surge towards the Premier League title.

Chelsea have also not been in their best form, having recently let a two-goal slip to draw 2-2 against Wolves in the Premier League.
