Premier League giants Chelsea have finally named Todd Boehly as the new owner of the Stamford Bridge side taking over from embattled Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Roman Abramovich was frustrated by the UK Government to lose the ownership of the Premier League side due to the disturbing attack and invasion of Russia over Ukraine.

The United Kingdom Government are of the say that Roman Abramovich has close ties with those ruling Russia.

Who is Todd Boehly?

Todd Boehly is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist who is the co-founder, chairman, chief executive officer and controlling member of Eldridge Industries, a holding company headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut.

As of October 2021, he is the interim CEO of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Statement from Chelsea below

“Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.
“The sale is expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time.”

Chelsea Host Wolves in Big Premier League Battle at Stamford Bridge

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Chelsea will on Saturday afternoon, 7 May, host Wolves in what is expected to be a tough Premier League battle as Thomas Tuchel and his wards will want to maintain their position on the top 4.

Even though the Blues will still be keeping their focus on the coming FA Cup final between them and Liverpool next week, they know that making the top four is important.

Last weekend, Chelsea suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Everton and the Blues will want to return to winning ways in front of their faithfuls in London.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have seen their European hopes fade after a terrible run of one win in four games.

Bruno Lage’s men are now looking over their shoulders, although a seventh-placed finish could still be on the cards for them this season.
