- Fans in awe of Chelsea wingback who put in a man-of-the-match performance in their stalemate against Manchester United
- James unlucky not to grab a couple of goals after he is denied severally by David De Gea and the post
- Chelsea need a maximum of six points from the available remaining fifteen to guarantee a top-four finish this season
Football fans took to social media to applaud Reece James for putting in a solid performance against Manchester United on Thursday night. The right-back was solid in the entire game and was unfortunate not to grab a goal or two in the encounter.
Chelsea and Manchester United played out to a one-all draw at Old Trafford. The visitors were highly dominant with James making significant contributions on his return to the team.
James has been hampered by multiple Injuries and recently sat out Chelsea’s victory against West Ham United. He was a constant menace down the right wing with his incessant forays into the United goal area.
The England international stung the hands of David De Gea in the first half before grazing the woodwork in the second half. His cross into the area bounced off Kai Havertz to find Marcos Alonso who powered home to give Chelsea the lead.
Cristiano Ronaldo equalized for the Red Devils moments later. The veteran striker was seen sharing a few words cordially with James as the game went on. It wasn’t however that cordial when he got embroiled in a mini-war with former Blue Nemanja Matic.
The scuffle was quickly de-escalated and the two teams went on to share a point for the 25th time in Premier League history – the most drawn fixture in the competition.

Thomas Tuchel had earlier given insights on where Reece James' favourite position on the pitch is. The 22-year old can play as a centre half or as a wingback.
Sports Brief reported that his tactician believes that he provides more when played as a wingback. That was vindicated in the United match as James won the man of the match award.
