English Premier League side Chelsea are preparing to hold talks with the UK government following the sanctions imposed on club owner Roman Abramovich, 90min reports.
All assets owned by the Russian billionaire in the UK have been frozen, but a special licence will allow the club to continue its day-to-day activities.
On Thursday morning, news broke that the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK Government.
The Premier League club confirmed the development and stated that measures are in place to discuss with the government on the way forward. Chelsea statement said via the club's website:

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has broken his silence after club owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government.
Abramovich has been looking to sell the west London club following the Ukraine-Russia crisis over fears he could be slapped with sanctions over his alleged ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
