Terry has been out of work for months now after he voluntarily quit as Aston Villa's assistant manager.

It is believed the former Blues skipper left Villa Park with the hope of landing a managerial job with a Premier League club.

However, none has been forthcoming, with The Athletic reporting the Englishman is well aware of the competitiveness when it comes to landing a job in the topflight.

As such, the 41-year-old is more hopeful a job in the Championship where former Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard started off comes up in the near future.

But in the interim, The Sun reports the former England international is set for a return to Cobham to help with youth development.

His former teammate Petr Cech who is currently serving as Chelsea's technical and performance advisor is believed to have played a significant role in Terry's imminent return to west London.

According to reports, Terry has been turning up at youth games over the years since leaving Chelsea in 2017 to watch the Blues youngsters in action.

Incidentally, his home also happens to be near Chelsea's Surrey training ground.

Liverpool star banned for Chelsea clash

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Liverpool face the prospect of playing Chelsea without Andy Robertson whose Premier League suspension is set to stretch until the new year.

Robertson was slapped with a three-match ban after he was red-carded for a reckless challenge during the Reds' meeting against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

The Scottish was handed marching orders in the second half of the explosive EPL clash just moments after he fell victim to a horror tackle from Harry Kane.

The full-back has already served suspension in one match having missed Liverpool's midweek clash against Leicester City.
