Roman Abramovic Chelsea handover seems to have sparked more troubles for Chelsea as the London club is under intense scrutiny from the Charity Commission.
Chelsea had confirmed on Saturday, February 26, that owner, Roman Abramovic has handed the stewardship of the club to the trustees of the Chelsea Foundation.
According to a report via 90 MINS, the handing over of Chelsea to the Chelsea Foundation is believed to have caught the charity’s trustees by surprise.
The Blues will now be required to explain to the Commission how the club and the foundation will remain separate if the same group of people are responsible for both.
Uncertainty over Roman Abramovic future at Chelsea
Meanwhile, the future of Roman Abramovic as Chelsea owner remains unclear after the Russian released a statement revealing him handing the stewardship of the Blues to the Trustees of the Chelsea Foundation.
According to The Olympian, Abramovich has provided no indication that he is going to sell Chelsea despite outright condemnation and protest that the Russian relinquish his stake at the Blues.
Abramovic and Chelsea have been widely criticized by some football supporters as they feel the billionaire is a strong ally to Russian President Vladimir Putin who has instigated a war against Ukraine.
