The owner of Chelsea football club Roman Abramovich has been barred from living in Britain as he is named one of the key enablers of Vladimir Putin’s regime.
Abramovich has been effectively stopped from staying permanently in the UK again as reports also have it that he has not been seen at his Premier League club home for several months now.
The businessman had initially applied for a British Tier 1 investor visa but withdrew it in 2018 following delays in the application.
Daily Mail reports that top security sources claim that the 55-year-old will likely not be allowed to ever live in Britain again.
Immigration officials have now been ordered to ensure that Abramovich who owns a £125million mansion near Kensington Palace does get a permanent stay.
The Home Office's 'Special Cases Unit' has taken over his case as it comes after the entrepreneur was named as one of the 35 oligarchs and key enablers of 'kleptocracy' run by the country's president Vladimir Putin according to Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
Abramovich however denies allegations that he is close to the Kremlin and does not deserve such sanctions imposed against him.
However, a senior source told The Sun that any attempt by the oligarch to apply for a permanent visa would 'almost certainly be rejected'.
