Rio Ferdinand has named Chelsea shotstopper Edouard Mendy among the top three best goalkeepers in the world.
Mendy has been in fine shape for both club and country since his switch to Stamford Bridge from Lille in the summer of 2020.
The Senegal international quickly deposed Kepa as Chelsea's number one after his arrival as he went on to help the Blues win the Champions League last season under Thomas Tuchel.
The 29-year-old added more silverware to his cabinet after he played a key part in Seenag's Africa Cup of Nations glory in Cameroon.

FootballFerdinand has now declared Mendy as one of the best goalkeepers in the world thanks to his consistency in the past year.
Speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel, the Man United legend further included Man City keeper Ederson and Man United's David de Gea in his top three choices of best keepers in the world.
"If I was picking a goalkeeper right now in the world, I think my top three keepers would be – and maybe people say you’re biased because of the Premier League – but it would be Mendy, Ederson, and on form right now De Gea," Rio observed.
"Mendy stands out for me, especially in this last year, he’s been impeccable," he added.
While reacting to Senegal's AFCON triumph, Mendy said he was proud to win the continental showpiece with his country.
"We are proud. We have never won it before. We worked really hard to win this trophy and today we won as a group and as a country and that is why I am super proud," he was quoted saying.
