Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey has revealed how proud he is to join Ghana's Black Stars for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua this week.
The former England youth international switched nationalities to represent the West African nation in June.
And in his first interview with the Ghana Football Association media, Lamptey expressed delight after receiving a warm reception from his new international teammates.
“Everyone has been fantastic, everyone has been welcoming. It’s been so good. I’m very proud to be here and I’m really just trying to train hard to give the best I can for the team,” Lamptey said.

“I’m looking forward to the game on Friday. In this game, we are preparing very well and we all want to be ready for Friday," he added.
The 21-year-old is expected to make his debut against the Selacao of Brazil on Friday in Le Havre.
Tariq Lamptey is expected to aslo make coach Otto Addo's team for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey have reported to the Black Stars camp ahead of the international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
The duo switched nationalities to represent Ghana and are both expected to make their debut when the Black Stars face Brazil on Friday.
