Marauding Brighton and Hove Albion player Tariq Lamptey makes a return to the England U21 team for the upcoming 2023 UEFA U21 qualifiers.
Renowned for his blistering pace, Lamptey has mustered a total of 22 appearances laced with two assists for the Seagulls in all competitions.
His impressive performances have won a lot of admiration with the Ghana Football Association seeking to convince the multifunctional player to switch his allegiance.
Lamptey is yet to play for the Three Lions at the senior team level and thus makes him a viable prospect to feature for the Black Stars considering the truckload of options in his position available to England.
Who is Tariq Lamptey
Born in Hillingdon, Greater London, Lamptey is of Ghanaian descent and currently plays for Brighton and Hove Albion in the English topflight.
The 21-year-old's dexterity on the right flank has seen him deployed as a fullback, wingback and right midfielder for the Seagulls.
Despite not representing England at the senior team level, Tariq has been a youth international for England having represented the Young Lions from U18 to U21 level.
He is eligible to represent Ghana due to his parentage.
