Borussia Dortmund Ease Past Copenhagen 3:0 in Champions League Group G Opener

German giants Borussia Dortmund began their Group G campaign with a 3-0 victory over Danish giants FC Copenhagen on Tuesday evening.

Dortmund coach Edin Terzić started Anthony Modeste in attack that also included Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt and Salih Ozcan.

However, a first-half injury to Hazard forced the Black and Yellow into an early substitution with United States international Giovani Reyna replacing the Belgian

The hosts did not seem disturbed by Hazard's absence, as they went on to grab the opening goal in the 35th minute courtesy of a strike from captain Marco Reus.

The lead was doubled on the stroke of halftime when Portuguese full-back Raphaël Guerreiro opened his account for the campaign after being set up by Reyna.

The third goal arrived in the 83rd minute, with England international Jude Bellingham rounded off the scoring from Reyna's second assist.

Dortmund have now taken early control of Group G, with reigning English champion Manchester City traveling to Spain to lock horns with La Liga giants Sevilla later.

BVB captain, Marco Reus scored the decisive goal in the 16th minute of the feisty encounter played at the Signal Iduna Park to earn maximum points for Edin Terzic’s team.

The victory against Hoffenheim is Borussia Dortmund’s fourth in five Bundesliga games and takes them to the top of the league table with 12 points.
