Borussia Dortmund Legends Arrive in Ghana Ahead of Major Showdown with African Giants

Legends of German giants Borussia Dortmund have touched down in Ghana for a tour of the West African country as well as a game against some African greats.

The Dortmund entourage is led by former striker Jan Koller, who arrived together with former teammates including Egypt's Mohamed Zidan.

In photos and videos posted on Twitter, the Bundesliga outfit were met by a large number of Dortmund fans in Ghana.

Dortmund will tour some parts of the country before engaging African football legends in a game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The German club have a good relationship with Ghana, having had several Ghanaian players pass through their ranks including coach Otto Addo.

Ibrahim Tanko, a former Ghana assistant coach and ex-teammate of Mallam Yahaya won the 1997 Champions League with Dortmund.

Dortmund will climax their visit with a game against African legends captained by three time African Player of the Year, Abedi Pele.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Otto Addo is basking in the glory of qualifying Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup upon his official return to Borussia Dortmund.

The 46-year-old trainer guided the West African nation to its fourth World Cup when his tactical masterclass upstaged Nigeria in a two-legged tie.

In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Dortmund welcomed their technical staff after he became the second Ghanaian to qualify the nation for the Mundial.

It is no longer a secret that Erling Haaland will be leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of this season.

English Champions Manchester City activated his release clause to land one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.

And Haaland has marked his departure from Dortmund by gifting every player and member of the technical staff Rolex watches as a farewell gift.
