The German national team have been hit with a double dose of drama ahead of their UEFA Nations League games against Hungary and Italy.
The German side will have to contest thetwo important games without the Bayern Munich duo of Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka.
Both Neuer and Goretzka were sent home after they tested positive for Covid-19, Bayern Munich confirmed on their site.
The players will return to Munich from the training camp in Frankfurt, where they will isolate at home. BBC reported that the tests were conducted after a close personal contact of one of the duo had tested positive. Those who were in close contact with Neuer and Goretzka will be tested daily.

Hoffenheim's Oliver Baumann has now been called up as a replacement goalkeeper for Neuer.
Bayern Munich will also be stressing over the fitness of the duo. Goretzka is returning to form after a long injury layoff, while Neuer is always a guaranteed starter for the champions and is the club captain.
Bayern are also concerned because Goretzka and Neuer were at an Oktoberfest celebration with the whole Bayern squad on Sunday. The Bavarian giants will be hoping that the duo were the only ones to contract Covid.
Bayern's Goretzka to miss Bundesliga start after surgery
Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka will miss the start of the new Bundesliga season.
This comes after his club said on Monday that he would be out of action for several weeks after undergoing successful left knee surgery, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Bayern did not specify the duration of his unavailability, but according to Sky, it could be anywhere between six and eight weeks, which would rule the 27-year-old German international out of contention for the season-opener at Frankfurt on August 5.
