Cristiano Ronaldo’s wish to leave Manchester United this summer has suffered a severe blow after Bayern Munich distanced themselves from the 37-year-old forward.

Ronaldo had told the Manchester United hierarchy he wants to leave the Premier League club this summer as he wishes to keep playing in the UEFA Champions League.

According to Daily Mirror, Bayern Munich CEO, Oliver Khan has now laughed off reports linking the German champions with the Portugal forward when he was asked if the Bundesliga champions are interested in a deal.

“We have been fast on the market this summer. It is very exciting. You are asking about Ronaldo right [laughs in denial]. The window is still open for some time and we are in talks with several players and things can still happen.”

Oliver Khan had previously stated he does not think Cristiano Ronaldo would fit into the Bayern Munich philosophy thereby squashing any hint the club will sign the Manchester United striker.

Benjamin Pavard could leave Bayern Munich this summer

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich could be set to lose another top player this summer after the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

According to SB Nation, Benjamin Pavard might likely be on his way out of the club following the arrival of Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus.

Bayern Munich are looking to generate some income and are planning on selling off some players with the Pavard on the list of players the Bundesliga champions plan to offload.
