Bouna Sarr, the right-back who got cleared to represent Senegal just before the Africa Cup of Nations, returned to Bayern Munich to a warm reception.
The AFCON winner was given a special welcome by officials of Bayern Munich led by the legendary Oliver Khan, as he was presented with a cake for his exploits in Cameroon.
Bouna Sarr played all seven games for the Teranga Lions as they emerged victors at the one-month tournament.
In a video posted on Twitter, Sarr received a cake which had his photo designed on it as he continues to celebrate his success.
Senegal beat Egypt 4-2 on penalties to win the tournament for the first time in their history of the West African powerhouse.
Bouna Sarr hopes to build on AFCON success at Bayern
The 30-year-old right-back hopes his success at the Africa Cup of Nations will serve as a springboard to his career at Bayern Munich.
Despite joining the club in the summer of 2020, competition for places has limited the Senegalese to only four appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
However, Sarr is hoping to take inspiration from his AFCON performance to revive in Bayern career.
"Yes, it gives me lots of motivation and I've got a lot of positive energy for the rest of the season. Now it's up to me to do my best and give my all to help the team achieve our goals. I think we can do something great," he told the club's official website.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Cheikhou Kouyaté received a rapturous welcome from his Crystal Palace teammates after retuning from the Africa Cup of Nations as a champion.
The 32-year-old midfielder starred as Senegal defeated Egypt in the finals of the Nations Cup to win the competition for the first time in the competitions history.
In a video posted on Twitter, Kouyaté was present with a Crystal Palace jersey as his teammates requested for a speech from the AFCON winner.
