Nigerian international, Asisat Oshoala joined the Spanish club, Barcelona Femeni in January 2019 and after four years, she has already scored over 100 goals for the club.

The superlative forward has been phenomenal in front of the goals, scoring some of the most incredible goals in the Primera Division.

Football pundits have suggested that the four-time Africa Female Player of the Year Award recipient has already etched her name in the club’s history books.

How did Oshoala join Barcelona?

After spending two seasons with Chinese club, Dalian Quanjian, Oshoala moved to the Catalan club on loan. She earlier had stints with Liverpool and Arsenal's female teams.

However, the Supert Falcons striker went on to establish herself as an important member of the Barcelona squad with eight goals after 11 games in all competitions while on loan.

Barely six months later, she was signed on a permanent deal by the Spanish giants, GOAL reports.

Oshoala then added finesse to the attack, helping with goals in the Liga Iberdrola and UEFA Champions League through her attacking prowess.

Oshoala’s road to 100 goals

The Nigerian international is now the fourth-highest scorer for the club and only Jenni Hermoso (181), Alexia Putellas (178), and Sonia Bermudez (123) have scored more times.

In four years, the striker has already registered 90 league goals, 11 goals in the Champions League, five in the Copa de la Reina, two in the Copa Catalunya, and four in the Spanish Super Cup.

The 28-year-old reached the 100 goal-mark following her hat-tricks against Betis, Levante Las Planas and then Granadilla, AS reports.

Nigerian journalist, Ibitoye Shittu said:

"100 goals in 4 years is massive for Oshoala and it is something Nigerians will be proud of as she has recorded her name in the history books."
"Oshoala has been representing Nigeria well and one can only hope that local coaches can fish out another player who will rise up to the zenith like the Barcelona Femeni star."

A nightmare for defenders

Oshoala moves with lightning speed and is a nightmare for defenders late on in games, as her pace and power on the ground allow her to breeze past opponents and into the space that tired legs usually leave open.

Add that to an instinct of knowing where to be at exactly the right moment and you start to build a picture of how she got to the top of the leaderboard.

Oshola’s impact for Barcelona Femeni

The Ikorodu-born forward has netted 18 goals in 18 appearances in the women's Primera Division this season.

It is a balanced figure as nine of the 18 goals were scored at home and the other nine were scored at away games.

Oshoala's titles at Barcelona

In four years, the Nigerian has won the Spanish Primera Division title on three occasions.

She also helped the team win the coveted UEFA Women's Champions League title during the 2020-2021 season.

Asisat has also claimed the Supercopa de Espana Femenina on three occasions, as well as three Copa de la Reina titles.

Oshoala copies Messi's trademark celebration

Sports Brief also reported on an awesome picture circulating on social media of Nigerian striker, Oshoala copying Lionel Messi's style after scoring.

Barcelona Femeni had it rosy on matchday to defeat visiting Alhama 4-0 in front of their fans, with the Super Falcons star capping off the tie with a goal.

Oshoala has been impressive this season for Barcelona Femeni in all competitions, with the club now looking forward to winning the Spanish league title.
