Dani Alves is in trouble with the law after the Brazil defender was arrested in Spain following allegations of assaulting a lady in a Barcelona nightclub.
The former Paris Saint-Germain defender was arrested in Spain after being called in for questioning by Catalan police following an official complaint from the woman involved.
The 39-year-old veteran defender admitted he had been at the iconic city nightclub Sutton on December 30 when the alleged crime occurred.

A court has also opened a formal investigation into the incident after Alves attended the Mossos d'Esquadra de Les Corts police station in Barcelona to testify against the allegations.
Alves is the most decorated footballer in history with a total of 46 titles after winning 23 trophies in eight seasons at Barcelona, including six La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns.
Alves pleads innocence in assault charge
Meanwhile, Dani Alves has denied any knowledge of ever assaulting a woman in a Barcelona nightclub after he was arrested by Spanish authorities, Goal reports.
The former Barcelona defender confirmed he was at the nightclub where authorities claim the crime was committed but insisted, he had no idea who the lady was nor was he invading anyone’s space.
Alves who now plays for Mexican side UNAM Pumas will now be taken to the Ciutat de la Justicia in Barcelona, where he will attend a court hearing and a judge will rule on his provisional situation.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported former Barcelona full-back Dani Alves is under investigation over an allegation he improperly assaulted a woman in a Spain nightclub last month.
Spanish media had reported that a woman had accused the Brazil international of touching her beneath her underwear without consent at a nightclub.
Alves, who was part of Brazil's World Cup squad that exited at the quarterfinals, has denied any wrongdoing after Catalonia's Supreme Court confirmed the accusation.
