Robert Lewandowski is human after all.

The Polish striker is lethal in front of goal, but he also has his fair share of embarrassing misses.

Lewandowski had one such miss against Almeria in La Liga when he missed a penalty in the sixth minute of the game.

Barca were awarded the penalty when Kaiky Fernandes was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. The player was also shown a yellow card despite protesting that he knew very little about the handball.

While fans called for Gerard Piqué to take the spot kick in his final game for the club, Piqué gave the honours to Lewandowski.

The Polish striker used a stuttered run-up, waiting for the keeper to commit before shooting the ball to the left. The ball hit the outside of the post and went out.

Lewandowski did not get onto the scoreboard during the game, but Barcelona did go on to win 2-0. Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie de Jong grabbed the goals.

Player of the Month:

Ironically Lewandowski missed the penalty on the day he picked up his award for being La Liga’s Player of the Month award for October. The club's website confirmed that the striker scored five goals and notched up two assists in six games during the month.

Robert Lewandowski proved to be the hero once again for Barcelona as his last-minute goal ensured the Catalan giants secured a narrow win at Valencia on Saturday.
