Barcelona’s hopes and dreams of being among Europe’s elite were crushed once again before they even kicked a ball against Bayern Munich.
The Spanish side were relegated to the Europa League for the second year running, as Inter Milan hammered Viktoria Plzen in the other group game.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Edin Dzeko (2) and Romelu Lukaku all got on the scoresheet as Inter ran out 4-0 winners, The Mirror reported.
The result meant that Bayern and Milan progressed to the Round of 16 from the group. Barcelona will finish third and therefore drop down to the Europa League, something football fans couldn’t stop making fun of.

The Blaugrana had already been to the Europa League prior to kick-off after Inter Milan demolished Viktoria Plzen in the group's other game on Wednesday.
The Italian giants are six points ahead of Xavi Hernandez's team and cannot be overtaken by the Catalans thanks to their better head-to-head record, even if they beat group leaders Bayern, Sports Brief reported.
