It’s not a good time to be a Chelsea fan.

New Barcelona player Jules Koundé rubbed salt in the wounds when he poked fun of the team after the defeat in Croatia.

Koundé was on Chelsea’s radar throughout the transfer window but eventually rejected The Blues in favour of Barcelona. The former Sevilla defender referenced that transfer link when he took to Instagram to troll the club, Sportskeeda reported.

Koundé shared a photo of himself on his Instagram story, joking that he was glad he chose not to move to Chelsea.

“I almost joined them,” his post said together with a laughing face and a facepalm emoji.

Koundé deleted the post soon after, following the backlash from fans, but not before some screenshot it.

Koundé and Barcelona will open their UEFA Champions League account with a visit from the Czech Republic’s Viktoria Plzen. The Blaugrana were dumped out of the competition in the group stages last season and will be hoping for a better showing this time around.

They find themselves in the group of death, though, as Inter Milan and Bayern Munich are in the same group. The Italian giants and the German champions will contest the other fixture in the group.

Chelsea's pathetic form continues as they lose Champions League opener to minnows Dinamo Zagreb

Chelsea's lacklustre start to this season continued as they fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb.

This is the third consecutive away match that Chelsea have lost under Thomas Tuchel in all competitions.

Having won the competition just last year, Chelsea walked into the fixture as firm favourites to kick start their campaign with a victory and emerge as group champions.
