According to Get Spanish Football News, Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has assured Alonso that he will do everything within his means to sign him in the next 48 hours.

Alonso has already agreed to personal terms with Barcelona as the Catalans try to seal the deal for the Spanish defender before the transfer window shuts on Thursday, September 1.
Chelsea are itching to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona and wants Alonso to be part of the deal while the La Liga giants are adamant and want that of Alonso to be separate.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Marcos Alonso might just have played his last game for Chelsea. The full-back was involved in a heated exchange with Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel over the weekend.
Alonso was guilty of giving away possession in the first half of their Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This outraged his manager on the touchline who exchanged a few words with the Spanish defender.
