  • Elche will host Barcelona in La Liga later, looking to stretch their impressive undefeated streak at home
  • Elche have not been beaten at home since November 2021 and will hope to continue that against Barcelona
  • Barcelona are undefeated in their last 10 games in La Liga and have looked like a different team with Xavi in charge

Elche will host a resurgent Barcelona side in La Liga today, with two undefeated streaks on the line.

On paper, the match looks like another easy fixture for Barcelona. The Blaugrana are 16 points and 10 places ahead of their hosts on the La Liga table.

Games aren’t played on paper though and Elche are no pushovers. According to Barca Blaugranes, Elche are unbeaten at home in La Liga since November 2021. They haven’t had the best record against Barcelona though. In the last eight games between the teams in all competitions, Barcelona have beaten Elche every single time.

As reported by WhoScored, Barcelona are also unbeaten in ten games in La Liga. With Xavi Hernandez managing the squad and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the line, Barcelona looks like a much different team than the one that started the season so poorly.

Possible line-ups for the Elche vs Barcelona game

Barcelona:

Ter Stegen; Alves, Piqué, Araujo, Alba; F. De Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Adama, Aubameyang, Dembélé

Elche:

Badia; Barragán, Roco, González, Mojica; Morente, Pérez, Mascarell, Chaves; Boyé, Milla

A win for Barcelona will see them climb about Real Betis into third place. while a win for Elche could see them go up to 12th in La Liga.

Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad: Los Blancos run riot at Santiago Bernabéu as they beat Sociedad by three goals

Real Madrid are now eight points clear at the top of the La Liga standings. Los Blancos beat Real Sociedad 4-1, to extend their lead over Sevilla and to give them a major boost going into their UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

The game started off very cagey, with both teams giving the ball away without doing too much with it. Sociedad then got the dream start as they were handed a penalty at the 8th-minute mark, Sports Brief reported.

Dani Carvajal was guilty of a clumsy tackle on David Silva, which gave Mikel Oyarzabal the chance to put his side ahead. The winger didn’t waste his chance and Sociedad led early against Los Blancos.
