Barcelona’s financial difficulties prompted the Spanish giants to sell off former captain Lionel Messi after struggling to meet up with the Argentine’s wages despite Messi offering to accept a 50% pay cut.
However, Spanish news outlet Marca now reports that Barcelona are now interested in bringing in former Chelsea midfielder Oscar dos Santos to the Nou Camp after recently announcing the signature of Ferran Torres from Manchester City.
Oscar who is currently the 5th highest earner in world football after sealing a 60 million euros move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG from Chelsea is said to be interested in the move to Barcelona as the Brazilian would prefer returning to European football.
The 30-year-old Brazilian who has won the Super League and a Super Cup in China is said to be willing to reduce his salary in order to be able to join up with Barcelona.
Dani Alves returned to Catalonia back in November and became the lowest-paid player at the club, with some reports suggesting he earns just €1-a-week and according to the Express, the former Chelsea attacking-midfielder Oscar could do the same.
