As far as Katlego Mashego is concerned, the South African Football Association and Bafana Bafana have not treated the current COSAFA tournament with respect.
The former national team striker has questioned why head coach Hugo Broos is not in charge of the team, with Helman Mkhalele currently the interim one.
He told Kick Off:
"The national team is playing and the national team coach (Hugo Broos) is not there. What is that? Why is Helman Mkhalele leading the national team when we have a head coach?

"The COSAFA Cup is there to prepare the national team that is going to play in the AFCON and World Cup qualifiers but the coach is not there? So what are we doing to ourselves?"
Mashego also questioned why form players were not being selected for the team, while unknown ones from lower leagues were.
