South African football fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Bafana Bafana in action as the dates for their next two friendlies have been announced.
Bafana Bafana will first play Guinea on 25 March and will then take on France on 29 March. Both fixtures will take place in France, Soccer Laduma confirmed.
While the game against Guinea could see Bafana square up against Liverpool’s Naby Keita, it is the clash against France that many are looking forward to.
Les Bleus are the reigning world champions and boast a squad full of stars who play at some of the biggest clubs around the world. Bafana could come up against players like Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe, just to name a few.
The game against France will be played at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, home of defending French Ligue 1 champions, Lille.
Bafana are also expected to field a few new faces for the upcoming friendlies. Coach Hugo Broos confirmed that there is a new for new blood to help bolster the team, The Sowetan reported.
“I have always said that the World Cup qualifiers campaign was the beginning. It was very difficult for me to select players because I didn’t know them but they did very well. However, there must be new faces because we’re not strong enough,” Broos said.
