- The fixture will be one of two pencilled in for the end of March during FIFA's international match window
- Readers fear for the national team, worried about how they would handle the likes of world champions Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe
News of Bafana Bafana being locked in to take on reigning world champions France has been met with trepidation by readers.
The national soccer team will take on Les Bleus as well as Zambia during the international fixtures window set for the end of March. The venues for both fixtures are yet to be confirmed.
According to the Sunday Times, coach Hugo Broos said these tough fixtures would prepare his team for future competitions down the line. As per 11v11, both nations have met in four previous fixtures, with the French winning two, South Africa winning one, and also one draw.
The last encounter between them was at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, when South Africa edged France 2-1 as reported in BBC Sports.
The imposing challenge of France does not fill fans with optimism.
