Interestingly, he started in the very unfamiliar role of centre-back in a match his team almost threw away the game having led 3-0 at halftime, according to iDiski Times. This comes just over a week after he appeared in another French Cup win, when Amiens saw off Guingamp 3-2.

The game went iZungu himself said some of his side’s players thought the game was over when they were leading 3-0 but praised the side’s spirit.

Zungu said:

“I think we lost concentration. I think some thought the game was over, but it’s football. I would like to salute Linas because they gave us a good match with a good fight. I know it’s a presumed inferior team, but we can only learn from it. We had already experienced this against Guingamp.
“This is something we must not forget to improve. It’s football, it’s never over. Today, the most important thing for us is to move on to the next round. At 3-3, we just motivated each other to continue. On penalties, we knew that our goalkeeper could stop penalties.”

Kaizer Motaung expresses surprise at PSL decision to deny Kaizer Chief's request

Kaizer Chiefs founder and chairman Kaizer Motaung has expressed surprise at the Premier Soccer League's (PSL) to deny the club's postponement request.

This was after the Naturena-based side was struck by a Covid-19 outbreak at the beginning of last month, which made dozens of players and non-playing personnel unavailable.

The PSL reasoned that the Amakhosi were afforded the opportunity to provide information in support of the request.
