Top Spanish La Liga Team to Rename Stadium After Signing Mega Sponsorship Deal Worth €50 Million for 5 Years

Atletico Madrid will have a new stadium name when the 2022/23 football season kickstarts after sealing a mega million deal with Real Estate conglomerate Civitas Pacensis.

The 11-time Spanish La Liga champions ended its previous deal worth €10 million per year with Chinese firm Wanda which lasted for 5 years.

According to Footy Headlines, Atletico Madrid will now rename its home stadium to Estadio Civitas Metropolitano after signing a 5-year-deal with Civitas Pacensis.

The deal with the Real Estate firm is worth around €50 million for five years and the name change for the stadium has since taken effect from July 1st following the completion of the deal.

The Metropolitano Stadium has since housed Atletico Madrid since the 2016/17 football season when it was completed and has a capacity of just over 68,000.

Atletico Madrid to send Morata back to Juventus

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata could be set to return to Italian Serie A giants, Juventus following a lack of interest for the Spanish forward.

According to Juve FC, Atletico Madrid are set to release the 29-year-old forward to re-join the Bianconeri this summer after failing to find a suitor for the striker.

Alvaro Morata spent the last two seasons on loan at the Allianz Stadium from Atletico de Madrid and the Serie A side are still keen on retaining his services.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Tottenham Hotspur have been made aware of Joao Felix's availability this transfer window.

Felix has often been seen as untouchable but Atletico Madrid's head coach Diego Simeone is said to have changed his stance.
