- The Ghana Football Association has announced betPawa as the headline sponsors of the topflight league
- The FA and betPawa signed a three-year deal as the Ghana Premier League gets a new sponsor before the start of the 2022/23 campaign
- The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season will begin on the weekend of September 9 to 12, with 18 teams competing for the title
Betting company, betPawa are the new headline sponsors of the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghana Football Association and betPawa have signed a three-year deal with $6 million to sponsor the topflight league.
At a short ceremony in Accra, betPawa stakeholder and music icon, Mr Eazi, expressed excitement with his outfit's partnership with the Football Association.
“The company’s high appetite for growing and harnessing talents, creating opportunities and rewarding fans across its markets are a few of the many reasons for partnering with the GFA," said Mr Eazi.

As part of the sponsorship, clubs will earn a locker room bonus for matches won while a new betPawa pitch will be built.
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, who was present at the unveiling of the sponsorship believes their association with betPawa will improve the competitiveness of the Premier League.
“On behalf of the Executive Council and the football fraternity in Ghana I wish to thank you for your support," said Kurt Okraku.
“For the country to be able to compete fiercely and on equal footing with other talents across the globe, there is the need for companies like betPawa and corporate Ghana to contribute to complement the effort of the Government," he added.
The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League begins on September 9, 2022.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Accra Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of lethal Cameroonian striker Junior Kaaba in the transfer window.
