Wenger sends warning to Arsenal

The last manager to win the Premier League title for Arsenal in the 2003/04 season, Arsene Wenger, did so in remarkable fashion, going through the 38-game season unbeaten, as revealed by Premier League.

He has now warned his former team that they have the best chance to end their title drought this season, and they must do it now.

‘‘You win it when you can win it, and you don’t care too much about the rest. You take the title and let the rest talk about it,’’ he told beIN Sports.

Wenger, who is currently FIFA's chief of global football development, also added that next season would be more competitive as most of their rivals underperforming this season would return to their best.

‘‘I agree the conditions next season won’t be as favourable as they are now, so let us not miss this opportunity. Arsenal has 51 points after 21 games which is remarkable,’’ he said.

‘‘I feel the usual threats are all out of the race. The only threat is City, and even City is not as dominant as they were last year or two years before, and I feel since the start of the season, City was more vulnerable defensively than before,’’ he added.
