Jorginho is believed to be one step away from joining Arsenal. The Chelsea midfielder will reportedly seal a deadline-day move to North London, in a deal expected to be worth around 12-million euros.
It was a surprise not many people expected, with Arsenal's priority being Brighton and Hove Albion's midfielder, Moises Caicedo.
However, the Seagulls failed to budge in negotiations and Mikel Arteta's side were forced to look for a quick stop-gap measure. Jorginho arrives with a lot of experience, having won the Champions League during his time at Chelsea.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano indicated on social media that the Gunners boss played a key role in convincing the Italian to swap the two London teams.

Arteta is said to have been a strong fan of the 31-year-old's abilities from way back.
New footage has now shown a previous encounter between the two after a match at Stamford Bridge. Arteta warmly embraced Jorginho, with the midfielder responding in a similar manner as they walked off the pitch.
Jorginho was supposed to join Manchester City in 2018, when Arteta was still Pep Guardiola's assistant and as GMS reports, the Spanish head coach has in the past admitted he likes a 'Jorginho-type of midfielder.'
Fans might cast doubt on Arsenal signing another player from Chelsea, given how previous transfers have unravelled, but the admiration and respect the Spanish manager has for the Italian player could be a game-changer going forward.

FootballSports Brief also reported on Chelsea full-back, Marc Cucurella being in disbelief after learning Jorginho was on the verge of joining Arsenal from the West Londoners.
After missing out on signing Brighton's Caicedo, the Gunners turned to the next-best thing, with the Italian set to sign a deal at the Emirates Stadium for 18 months.
Everything is all but done in terms of turning Jorginho into an Arsenal player, and he was pictured in the club's colours on the final day of the transfer window.
