  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the centre of attraction during Chelsea's Premier League clash against Arsenal
  • The match staged at Stamford Bridge afforded Auba a rare chance to face his former side months after his Emirates exit
  • Aubameyang had earlier hinted at helping the Blues see off their bitter rivals when they lock horns on Sunday
  • However, he was unable to make any impact, with Chelsea's defeat in the tie leaving Auba in an awkward position

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has aimed a cheeky dig at former teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang was involved in an awkward reunion with the Gunners on Sunday, November 6, as the Mikel Arteta-tutored side faced off against the Blues.

This was Auba's first encounter against his former side, months after he left the Emirates Stadium following his fallout with Arteta.

However, the reunion was one to forget for the Gabonese striker as the Gunners sunk Chelsea 1-0 courtesy of Gabriel Martinelli's second-half goal.

Chelsea's defeat came just days after Auba hinted at avenging his former side during the encounter.

In a widely shared promo video days before the clash, the former Arsenal striker said:

"Arsenal, nothing personal. I'm back, I'm blue, I'm ready. Let's go."

Seemingly, Auba's message did not go down well with his former teammates at the Emirates Stadium, with Magalhaes appearing to respond to the Chelsea striker with a cheeky dig.

The Brazilian defender took to social media moments after the match with a cryptic message saying:

"NOTHING PERSONAL .. LONDON IS RED."

Meanwhile, Arsenal's narrow win away at Stamford Bridge was enough to help them regain the top spot in the Premier League standings.

Aubameyang warns Arsenal

Sports Brief earlier reported on Aubameyang sending a warning to Arsenal before they played Chelsea on Sunday 6th, November.

The 33-year-old said he relishes facing his former club, with a subtle message that he now plays for the Blues.

"Arsenal, nothing personal. I'm back, I'm blue, I'm ready. Let's go."
