Arsenal fans have bemoaned the absence of Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey following their disappointing defeat to Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Gunners suffered a huge setback in their quest to qualify for the Champions League when they lost 2-0 to the Magpies at the St. James' Park.
Ben White scored an own goal as Bruno Guimaraes added a second one to condemn Arsenal to a second successive loss.
The result means Arsenal must beat Everton in their final game of the season on Sunday and hope Tottenham lose at relegated Norwich.
Since the injury to Partey, Arsenal have struggled for consistency in the top-flight, and out of the eight matches they have featured in without the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, they have managed four wins, and four defeats.
