Arsenal kept their top-four hopes alive after a hard-fought 2-1 win against West Ham on Sunday, May 1, at the London stadium.

But the Hammers responded just before the break as Jarrod Bowen produced a smart finish past Aaron Ramsdale from Vladimir Coufal's cutback in the 45th minute.

Both teams went into the tunnel with nothing to separate them.

However, it was a day for Arsenal to rely on their defenders as Gabriel restored parity nine minutes into the second half.

Gabriel Martinelli's ball found Gabriel at the back post for the defender to head past Fabianski in the 54th minute.

Arsenal had more scoring chances to extend their lead but Nkietah was guilty of failing to convert them.

Arsenal retake 4th spot

Arteta's men however held on to claim all three points as Arsenal retake 4th spot after Tottenham went past them thanks to a 3-1 win earlier today against Leicester City.

The Gunners move up to 63 points, three points behind third-place Chelsea and two points above Tottenham who are on 61 points with four games left to play.

However, Arsenal meet Tottenham Hotspur in two weeks for the North London derby.

Richarlison scores as Everton secure vital win to boost survival chances

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Everton's hopes to salvage their Premier League status have been boosted after securing a 1-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday, May 1.

Richarlison was the man of the moment for the Toffees as his second-half goal earned his side three vital points at Goodison Park.

Richarlison and Jordan Pickford were undoubtedly the men of the moment for Everton against Chelsea, with the duo playing a central role in the win over the Blues.

While Richarlison scored the match-winner after just 56 seconds into the second half, Pickford produced three vital saves to deny Thomas Tuchel's men goals.

Everton's victory now has them sitting 18th on the log, two points behind Leeds United and Burnley.
