Reports linking Amazulu player Siyethemba Sithebe with a move away from the club has left Usuthu management puzzled.

Several reports have linked the player with a move to Kaizer Chiefs with one even stating that Sithebe has already signed a contract with the Amakhosi.

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu told Soccer Laduma that there has been no approach from Chiefs with regards to buying the player.

“Just think about it, how could he have signed or joined Kaizer Chiefs? It’s not permitted by FIFA rules – it would be in breach, and I don’t think Chiefs would want to do that. As far as I know, he is our player until further notice,” Zungu said.

Amazulu coach Benni McCarthy will hate to part with one of his star players as he looks to strengthen his side during the January transfer window.

Benni McCarthy is hoping to get in fresh faces into the squad as Amazulu look to have a better second half of the season, Sport24 reports.

User @Nkoskhodola_23 joked that Orlando Pirates would still win the league, though they are miles behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Tshwane side is on 44 points, while the second-placed Buccaneers are 14 points behind, stuck in a musical-chairs-like contest for the position with five other teams hot on their heels.
