FootballStuart Baxter Officially Shortlisted for AmaZulu Coaching Role, Brandon Truter Sets Focus on Upcoming Season
- Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has been shortlisted for the vacant head coach post at AmaZulu Football Club
- Current caretaker coach Brandon Truter has been added to the shortlist along with Stuart Baxter, Kaitano Tembo and Steve Komphela
- Brandon Truter is keen to make his position permanent and is already planning for next season's action
The AmaZulu head coach position could soon be filled as the season draws to an end.
AmaZulu has been without a coach since the club parted ways with Benni McCarthy in March and have since appointed Brandon Truter in a caretaker role.
The Usuthu are unbeaten under Truter and believes that he should be handed the role on a permanent basis.
The South African has now reported that former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter, has been shortlisted for the vacant post. Baxter along with Brandon Truter, Kaitano Tembo and Steve Komphela have all been shortlisted.
Truter himself confirmed that Baxter was on the list for the post but added that he was focused on securing the job for himself permanently.
“Yes, I want to make it as difficult as possible for other coaches to apply. I have the privilege of the interview while I’m at the club. I think that counts in my favour. If I get the job it might be easy because I know the structure and I know what the club is about and we can start the pre-season hitting the ground running,” Truter said.
Truter has already set his sights on next season and has had discussions with owner Sandile Zungu with regards to pre-season, Goal.com reported.
"I'm having constant discussions with the president on pre-season and which players we should like to keep and players we want to bring in for next season,” he added.
Truter was appointed as caretaker coach until the end of the season of the Usuthu and the club are expected to make an announcement soon on who will take over the role permanently.

FootballInteresting possible candidates have emerged for the Kaizer Chiefs head coach position
Silly season has begun in earnest towards the end of the Premier Soccer League season. With sackings and appointments the order of the day, unlikely candidates are also being linked to posts they normally wouldn't be.
According to Sowetan LIVE, out-of-work Benni McCarthy is one of two candidates been suggested for the vacant Kaizer Chiefs head coach position after Stuart Baxter was sacked yesterday. The other is interim coach Arthur Zwane, who will lead the Amakhosi in their remaining seven matches of the DStv Premiership.
McCarthy was fired by Amazulu over a month ago, and had already been linked to the Orlando Pirates gig where Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids are the temporary co-coaches, Sports Brief earlier reported.
