Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been rewarded with a gold medal by the Western Reginal Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, following his exploits at the World Cup in Qatar.

Kudus was Ghana's brightest spot at the tournament, scoring two goals and providing an assist in three games. The Ajax star won Ghana a penalty in the decider against Uruguay which was missed by captain Andre Ayew.

His contribution to the team was duly recognized after he arrived in Ghana following the team's exit.

Honourable Darko-Mensah, who is Member of Parliament for Takoradi, presented a Commemorative Gold Coin Medal to the player on behalf of the Ghana Gold Expo.

Kudus attended the mini-ceremony with his friends Kamaldeen Sulemana of Stade Rennais and FC Nordsjaelland's Emmanuel Nuamah.

An excited Mohammed Kudus wrote:

"I am very thankful and highly honored to receive this commemorative gold coin medal from Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko on behalf of Ghana Gold Expo. This is to the entire WC squad for our collective dream & effort. Thanks for motivating & inspiring this generation and beyond."

Mohammed Kudus resumes training

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has returned to Amsterdam for mid-season training following Ghana's elimination from the World Cup.

The Ghana World Cup star rejoined his Ajax teammates at sports complex de Toekomst as preparations begin ahead of the return of the Dutch Eredivisie.

Kudus went through the necessary drills alongside Ajax's two other internationals Dusan Tadic and Jorge Sanchez.

Kudus dazzles in designer brands

Black Stars duo Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mohammed Kudus have showed their fashion taste is up there with some of the best in football.

The Ghana internationals returned to their various clubs in Europe, following the Black Stars early exit from the World Cup in Qatar.

Both players excelled, with Kudus grabbing the headlines for his heroic performance against South Korea in the second Group H game.
