Sulley Muntari continues to excel in the Ghana Premier League after scooping his first Man of the Match award as Hearts of Oak defeated rivals Ashantigold.
The 37-year-old former Inter Milan star was at his best for the club as a brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh helped the champions pick all three points in Accra.
After the game, the Ghanaian football legend was presented his player of the match award as he celebrated another win with his teammates.
Sulley Muntari was making a return to the team after missing the defeat at Aduana Stars due to injury.
The swashbuckling midfielder started and lasted 80 minutes before he was replaced by Isaac Agyenim Boateng.
How Hearts of Oak beat Ashantigold 2-1 in Accra
The Phobians got off to a bright start after forward Isaac Mensah was brought down in the box just 12 minutes into the game, and fellow striker partner Daniel Afriyie Barnieh elected himself for the spot kick which he coolly converted.
However, the Miners leveled 12 minutes later through Aminu Adams as the game went into the break at 1-1.
Afriyie Barnieh then netted a goal of the season contender on the hour mark to secure all three points for the hosts.
