While United have gone unbeaten in Ralf Rangnick’s first four games in charge of the Red Devils, they are yet to impress under the German at least going by their performances.

Rangnick has overseen two 1-0 wins and two draws, with the last outing ending in a frustrating 1-1 stalemate at Newcastle.

The result denied the Red Devils a chance to climb to fifth as they push to regain their top-four status.

Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea look set to seal the top three slots this season as they compete for the title this season, leaving a string of teams to challenge for a place in the top four.

Arsenal currently occupy fourth-place ahead of the new year but are sure to face stiff competition for the spot by Man United, West Ham, and Tottenham.

However, Nigel does not see the Red Devils challenging for the place, predicting Rangnick's charges are due to missing out on a Champions League spot.

According to the former City midfielder, Arsenal and the Hammers will be the two teams battling for fourth.

"I don’t see Man United finishing in fourth this season, even if they’re currently favourites behind Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea to do so; I really don’t. I think it’ll be a battle between Arsenal and West Ham," De Jong divulged as quoted by Metro UK.
