Ghana defender Daniel Amartey continues to receive the plaudits after his outstanding defensive display for Leicester City against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old Ghana international produced a solid performance as Leicester halted high flying Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
Manager Brendan Rogers after the game lauded the defender, claiming he was heroic in the match against the Reds.
“Ndidi who is a central midfielder going at the back, Amartey who plays every now and again coming into a defence having not really trained at all, to come in and put in the performance they did was heroic," said Rogers after the game as quoted by Amazon Prime.
Liverpool had scored in every Premier League game they played in the past eight months before facing Leicester on December 28, 2021.
Daniel Amartey was for the first time partnering Nigeria's Wilfried Ndidi in the heart of defence.
He is expected to join his Black Stars teammates on January 3, 2022 as preparations for AFCON continues in Qatar.
The Black Stars player will leave Qatar for Cameroon on January 10, 2022.
