- Gabriel Agbonlahor is not impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo’s attitude since the Portuguese returned to Manchester United
- The ex-England and former Aston Villa forward has called on the club’s interim manager to drop the 36-year-old to the bench
- According to Agbonlahor, United forwards Rashford, Greenwood and Jadon Sancho all feel intimidated by the superstar
A former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has disclosed that some Manchester United youngsters feel intimidated by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, SPORTbible reports.
CR7 dumped Italian side Juventus and returned to the Old Trafford club during the summer, but despite that, United seem to be struggling in their performances.
Agbonlahor is unimpressed with the Portuguese striker and has called on United interim boss Ralf Rangnick to drop the 36-year-old to the bench following their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
According to the former English player, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are intimidated by Ronaldo’s presence in the squad.
Despite scoring 13 goals in 18 gamed for the Red Devils so far, Agbonlahor believes all Ronaldo thinks about is his goals.
He said via Daily Mail:
“It looks to me like Ronaldo just cares about his goals. That performance from Ronaldo was somebody sulking all game.
“He was throwing his hands up in the air because he wasn’t getting chances. Then after the game, he runs off the pitch sulking and I imagine he’s sulking in the changing room.
“His attitude was off. If I’m Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho I’m scared to have a shot. Every time they have a shot he’s got his arms up to say, “Why haven’t you passed to me?”
“The harmony is not right in that changing room. The form of Rashford and Greenwood has dropped since Ronaldo has been there.
“They can’t express themselves, it’s like they think, “I have to pass to Ronaldo, I have to create a chance for Ronaldo”.
