In their bid to bolster the squad as soon as the January transfer window opens, Spanish club Barcelona have continued their chase for Nigerian descent Karim Adeyemi.
Born in Germany to a Nigerian father and Romanian mother, the 19-year-old has featured for the German senior national team, having three caps already.
Following his impressive run of form in recent times, Adeyemi is billed to leave Austrian club Salzburg at the end of the season as several European clubs are jostling for his signature.
It was gathered that Catalan side Barca see the striker as an alternative to priority target Erling Haaland who they have been struggling to sign.
Complete Sports reported that should they fail to reach terms with Borussia Dortmund for Haaland, they will turn to Adeyemi as a second-choice striker target.
Barca officials reportedly met with agents for Adeyemi in November at the Nou Camp and have maintained contact ever since.
And the players of interest are thought to be Ajax winger Antony, and RB Salzburg prodigy Karim Adeyemi aged 21 and 19 respectively.
They both have shown great prospects, although they each have a very long way to go before reaching Salah's level.
