Turkish legend Hakan Sukur was spotted in California, USA, where he works as a Uber driver as fans are stunned about the former player’s situation.

The 50-year-old remains one of the best players to ever feature for Turkey, but the 50-year-old is currently on exile in the United States.

It was gathered that he may likely face death penalty or be imprisoned for life if he ever steps into his country again.

SunSport are reporting that the ex-striker now lives in California, in the wealthy area of Palo Alto in Silicon Valley, on the outskirts of San Francisco. He told German outlet, Welt am Sonntag:

"I moved to the United States, initially running a cafe in California, but strange people kept coming into the bar."

He used to run a popular bakery called Tuts, where the house specials were dishes like Turkish sausage and eggs, and Greek-style pancakes.

It received rave reviews on rating website Yelp, with comments such as:

"Oh my gosh. This is the best place in the Bay Area to eat delicious food with your friends.
"The staff is so kind and friendly."

But none of the customers mentioned that one of the men behind the cafe is Turkish football legend Hakan Sukur.

Meanwhile, legendary Ghanaian footballer, Stephen Appiah will be named after a new astro-turf built by the government of Ghana for the people of Mamprobi.

The ex-Black Stars captain turned 41 on Friday, December 24, 2021. In honour of his contributions to the country in football, the government has decided to name him after the newly constructed pitch.

Stephen Appiah is also been celebrated by former clubs including Hearts of Oak and Juventus.
